July & August

The great advantage of a Mediterranean island is excellent sun light entire year, and Ayia Napa, Cyprus is no exemption. In fact, there is 320 days of sunshine on the average each year. Ayia Napa characterizes the ideal climate of the area with hot days and good temperatures about each day. That is why it is considered a heaven for those looking for a ‘SUN LOVING LIFE-STYLE’. Temperature is usually constant and extreme temperatures are very rare. These are what one can expect the weather to be in July- august.

Summers are when the temperature rises, the skies are cloudless, and there is a cool breeze blowing from the sea. This is right time to go for swimming, sunbathing and a whole series of water sports from scuba diving to sailing. At this instance of the year, walk around the archaeological places early morning or in late noon, avoiding the warmest element of the day. It is always a better thought to carry along with sun guard, such as a broad-brimmed hat or a sunscreen. Even in the summer season once it is 350C degree at the coastal area, temperatures are mouth-wateringly cooler in the Troodos, creating the mountains idyllic for simply relaxing or just hiking. The evening could be enjoyed in the different pubs and bars, enjoying the famous night life.

The mean summer temp during this period rages from 20C to 35C and the sea temp is also the same. The average sunshine is from 10 to 12 hours per day. The temp reaches the max during these months. Rain fall is unheard of during the summers.

I recommend using very light summer clothing such as shorts, t-shirts, bikinis, etc. Make sure you wear sunglasses and a hat. Have plenty of sun cream with you as well as a bottle of water.
